St. Benedict on the Value of Scripture

“What page, what passage of the inspired books of the Old and New Testaments is not the truest of guides for human life?” -St. Benedict, Rule, chap. 73.

It probably helps if you read it four hours a day like St. Benedict and his monks!

Hi Mark! I heard you on Catholic Answers today’s and you were awesome. I am looking for a good book on the history of the Jewish people before Christ and found that many histories seem to try and debunk the bible. Do you have some suggestions for good books on this topic, ones which accept the basic historicity of the bible yet try and square those stories with what we can know through archeology and history?

    Thank you.
