Marita,
The place I would go to find more information is the CUA library, especially I would look at the old yearbooks or internal newsletter publications from Grannan's tenure as dean of the School of Theology. I don't remember the name of the internal newsletter from back then, but the librarians should be able to help you. The current student newspaper is called The Tower and they may have archives that go back that far. Ah, well, it actually only goes back to 1922 (http://www.lib.cua.edu/newsevents/858/).

Hello

Charles P. Grannan was my father's grand uncle on his mother's side. I am a graduate of Catholic University and my husband of Mt. St Mary's - both schools where Grannan taught in the 1880's and 90's. I have several letters he wrote to Bishop Keane in the late 1890's (sent to me by the library at CU) and am beginning to decipher the letters and re-construct a short biography of his life. In particular, I have scant information about his early and later years. Any information you or other readers have on Grannan would be most welcome. Thank you.
