Scripture and Christology
I found a hard-to-find document from the Pontifical Biblical Commission today and I thought I'd share it with you. It's called Scripture and Christology and was published in 1985 in Latin and French. Fr. Joseph Fitzmyer, S.J. did an English translation which has been reproduced online. So here it is: the English translation of the "Instruction on Scripture and Christology.

Mark,
Hey this is James Mangan. I'm in my third year of seminary and am studying in Rome. I had a couple questions for you concerning biblical studies and was wondering if we could correspond perhaps by email.
Hope things are well for you in DC.
God bless
James
Mark -- I wanted to ask you...you mention your favorite translation is the ESV, yet that is not an approved Catholic translation. Why do you prefer it over others -- and do you think not having a Bible with the full canon of Sacred Scripture is a bit limiting?
I thought you might be interested in learning about OUR Jewish traditions, one which has embraced the real Christ of the gospel, the Law and the prophets.
If this doesn't interest you, I apologize in advance.
If you are interested let me tell you that we are the Frankist Association of America. One of our members has a new book out:

I am not that I am trying to sell you something. If you can't afford the book you can see the website of one of our teachers - http://www.stephanhuller.blogspot.com.
I just wanted to let you and the scholarly world that there have always been more than one type of Judaism in the world at any one time. Some forms of the faith had to learn to hide their beliefs in order to survive and perpetuate themselves.
Shalom, God Bless

Hi!
I am a servant of God on www.prophecyfilm.com and wish to beg you, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to please link to this wonderful site which has free glorious Prophecies & Revelations of Jesus and Mary from Saint Bridget in many languages!
We also have free videos for download on various catholic topics, and also a great one about Mary, and maybe hoped that you could tell your visitors and your family and friends! They are a bit further down on the page and are quite interesting. They are extremly good for catholics to strengthen their faith, for protestants to come to the true faith, and for atheists to see the scientific evidence of the Bible that proves God's existance. You are free to copy all videos and books on our site http://www.prophecyfilm.com to your site if you like them. Our videos can also be embedded! This can draw lots of brothers and sisters to your site. We know by experience. We hope you also read the revelations and watch our videos personally.
For the greater glory of God!
Peace and God bless!

Saint Bridget was canonized by Pope Boniface IX in the year 1391 and confirmed by Pope Martin V in the Council of Constance in the year 1415
The Revelations were accorded an exceptionally high degree of authenticity, authority and importance from an early date. Pope Gregory XI (1370-78) approved and confirmed them and judged them highly favourably, as did Boniface IX (1389-1404) in the papal Bull Ab origine mundi, par. 39 (7 Oct 1391). They were later examined at the Council of Constance (1414-18) and at the Council of Basel (1431-49), both judging them to be in conformity with the Catholic faith; The Revelations were also strongly defended by numerous highly regarded theologians, including Jean Gerson (1363-1429), Chancellor of the University of Paris and Cardinal Juan de Torquemada (1388-1468).
Here is a our site with some nice looking banners if you know how to use those as links on your site!
UncleBob,
I like the ESV because of its updated English, its word-for-word translation style and its utilization of recent biblical scholarship.
It's true that it is NOT a Catholic translation. That is severely limiting.
